Inspired by his upbringing living on the family farm in Hertfordshire, founder Charlie Pyper left his city job and headed back to his roots with the dream of delivering real bacon direct to customers across the UK.

What sparked your decision to start up your subscription box and how did you get started?

Our founder grew up in a Hertfordshire farming family and, upon moving into the city, was appalled at the standard of bacon being shifted in the supermarkets. He decided to set up a business that’s focus was on reconnecting British people with properly farmed British goods.

Describe your subscription box in three words?

Delicious, Traditional and Natural

Where did your box name come from? 
It is a play on words - all our produce is cured and it is nothing but pure and simple to sign up for our service

Are you a creator or curator?
Creator - We make all of our bacon on-site at Cure and Simple HQ, using traditional production methods in our former tractor shed, which has been converted into a state of the art production facility.

What was your most popular box? 
Oak smoked - can't knock a classic!

How many people are involved with producing your subscription box? 
Two directors along with Iwona, who manages the whole curing process, and Jennie who oversees all distribution.

If you could put anything in your box, with money or scarcity no object, what would it be?

What do you love about uOpen?
