Joob Joobs - Meet the Maker

In this week's Meet the Maker interview, we're delighted to welcome Francesca Fennell and her team from Joob Joobs Sweet Boxes.

Francesca, 28 from Holywood, Northern Ireland, created Joob Joobs to help people find new and exciting sweets from new brands and startups.

Each month, receive a hand-picked selection of sweets, candy and confectionery from new brands you won't find in supermarkets.

Joob Joobs (the name comes from jube, an old-fashioned word for a gummy type of sweet) caters to every type of sweet tooth, be it traditional, vegan, gluten-free, or just something different.

Due to the success and the ability to see what's popular, Joob Joobs has since launched its range of in-house sweet products to include alongside their favourite products in every box. Francesca and her team have also pledged to donate 10 per cent of all profits to the Tens Foundation charity on Belfast's Lisburn Road, which supports vulnerable children, families and communities in the Philippines.

To hear more about her journey so far, we spoke with Francesca to tell us more about it.

What sparked your decision to start up your box and how did you get started?

At Joob Joobs we are inspired by recreating a new modern sweet shop for all tastes and dietary requirements. Our sweet boxes have products that are unusual and not found in the supermarkets given customers a unique sweet selection every month. Why eat the same boring sweeties every week when customers could discover a new world of even better sweets!?

Where did your box name come from?

Our brand! Joob Joobs is a play off an old scottish word for gummies spelt ''Jujubes'' - but at Joob Joobs we like to recreate even words so Joob Joobs was created - tech companies like the double 00's right !? :]

Are you a creator or curator?

We do both! we create our own products aswell as curate the best sweets!

What was your most popular box?

All are just so tasty!! Boxes with our Joob Joobs vegan lollies everyone loves!

How many people are involved with producing your subscription box?

We co-create with over 100 different independent brands.
