MicroBarBox: Gin Fizz & Prosecco Box | Staff Review

Carefully curated by home bar experts - MicroBarBox - the Gin Fizz & Prosecco one-off box is jam-packed with a cracking selection of premium gin and prosecco to get you mixing up four fabulous sparkling cocktails from the comfort of your own home! This week, client development manager and cocktail fiend, Ali, reviews this bubbly box for us.
"MicroBarBox offer a delightful range of one-off boxes to suit every fizz, spirit or cocktail lovers needs. Whether it be punchy cocktails or refreshing G&Ts, the MicroBarBox team have handpicked a super selection of home bar boxes to help you mix up bar-quality drinks from the comfort of your own home.

The card included in Ali's box detailing the contents...
As someone that's new to gin, (yes, I know I'm very late to the party), I have recently tried (and loved) different gins at the bar when I am out and about. However, I'd been looking for a tasting box of sorts so I could taste a few more before I take the plunge and either buy the full-sized bottle or consider a fully-fledged gin subscription.
In that respect, this box answered all my questions and ticked all the boxes for me! It's reasonably priced, it introduced me to four different premium gins (some I didn't even know existed!), and better still it's delivered straight to my door, and comes with my favourite thing in the world included, Prosecco!
When I received my box, my first impression was how expensive it looked, it's sleek, elegant and oozes sophistication. Inside the box was an insert which showed what's in your particular box on one side, and on the reverse, instructions of how to mix the pre-chosen drinks in a straightforward and easy-to-follow format.

Bombay Sapphire & Edinburgh Raspberry Gin Liqueur...
I also particularly liked that this, along with all the MicroBarBox sets, shows you precisely what you're ordering each time, with the contents photographed and individually listed out on uOpen.
I do enjoy a surprise as much as the next person, but with cocktails being such a personal choice I like the fact that I know exactly what I am getting.
My MicroBarBox contained four small bottles of gin - Sipsmith, Bombay Sapphire, Anno Kent and Edinburgh Raspberry Gin Liqueur - only one of which I'd tried before (Bombay Sapphire).
Alongside the gin was a 200ml bottle of Galanti prosecco, a selection of mixers and two cordials required for the cocktails (elderflower and rhubarb & ginger) - the perfect finishing touch.
Having never ordered or even seen a box like this I was concerned I'd need lots of specific expensive 'paraphernalia' to make the listed drinks but it honestly couldn't have been easier. If you own a glass, then you've already got all you need really as the box provides everything else, although if you want to look the part, I'd recommend using a martini glass.

Sipsmith Dry Gin, Anno Kent Dry Gin & Galanti Prosecco, plus mixers!
The Gin Fizz & Prosecco Box costs £44.95 and makes four sparkling cocktails - which when you consider how expensive cocktails are in a bar these days it seemed reasonable value to me. I'd also have no idea which gins to choose or what they go with mixer-wise, so the curation element and the included instructions on how to make each drink were an invaluable godsend!
To summarise, this box was an absolute winner for me - not only is it an excellent gift for yourself but it's also the perfect thoughtful gift for others from your gin loving grandad through to your prosecco loving favourite next-door neighbour.
So whether you're a gin connoisseur or new to the gin game like me, I'd highly recommend you try it for yourself..."
