Let's hear from founders Tom and Tatjana to tell us more :

What sparked your decision to start up your box and how did you get started?
Inspired by a life-changing Dragonwell green tea, then drinking a lot of loose leaf tea and discovering authentic tea varieties and traditions from around the world. We started Teapro with the determination to share our knowledge by launching a loose leaf tea journey.

Describe your box in three words?
Become a Teapro

Where did your box name come from?
It's actually Chinese for giant umbrella (joking)

Are you a creator or curator?
Both - As we handpick and curate the best loose leaf tea from quality suppliers. We then create all the inserts, content and extra-fine touches to the final box experience.

What was your most popular box?
It gets a bit seasonal :) Black and Yellow Box we do around Christmas time which is our most popular time. Our Magic Box has colour changing tisanes and children love that. Cake Day (our aged Pu-er box) is popular with dark and mysterious types whilst White Gold is popular with floral and aromatic types. There is so much in between!

How many people are involved with producing your subscription box?
2 - Myself and girlfriend Tatjana manage every part of the business.

If you could put anything in your box, with money or scarcity no object, what would it be?
Tea is something meditative, peaceful but also communal. We would love to pick a subscriber and hand-deliver it ourselves to enjoy it with you and make new friends.

What do you love about uOpen?
uOpen are really good so far! We are being helped by a very friendly person called David and we feel special because we were told that another tea company didn't make the cut!
